Caribbean Cutlets

Caribbean cutlets are famous for being particularly delicious. Here I have used extra firm tofu for the cutlets and recreated the typical taste of this incredible recipe.
The seasoning mixes tomato sauce, oregano, lime and coconut cream, giving a pleasant and delicate taste to the tofu.
It’s very easily made, and most of the cooking time is in the oven. Therefore, this is one of those dishes that allow you to do other things while the magic happens in the kitchen.
Give it a try!
Ingredients
- 1/2 pack extra-firm tofu (120 grams)
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon dried onion
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- Pinch of garlic salt
- Pinch of pepper
- 1/2 can coconut milk
Preparation
Slice the tofu into 1-inch wide pieces. In a bowl, mix all the other ingredients and mix well until you obtain a smooth cream.
Cover the bottom of a baking tray with 3/4 of the cream, then lay the tofu cutlets on it. Cover the cutlets with the remaining cream.
Bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees. If the cream is too liquid, broil for 5 minutes before taking off the oven.
Enjoy your Caribbean tofu cutlets hot! Here, I have accompanied them with a splash of Colcannon.
