-
1 stalk Celery
-
1 green Sweet bell peppers
-
1 tablespoon Sesame seeds
-
For the sauce:
-
1/4 cup Water
-
1 teaspoon Vegetable powder
-
3 tablespoons Hoisin sauce
-
1/4 cup Soy sauce
-
1 tablespoon Maple syrup
-
1 teaspoon Corn starch
Directions
Of course, Mac was not born in China. However, this Mac dish has all the flavours of Chinese cuisine: “pork” soy mince, thinly diced vegetables, and a seasoning with hoisin sauce and soy sauce. This “Chinese” Mac is also much lighter than your standard Mac-n-Cheese. It’s also gluten free and a wonderful option for kids!
To prepare it, cook your mac in boiling water by following the instructions on the package. Then, whisk all the sauce ingredients together and set aside. Dice the vegetables into small cubes, and cook them in a casserole together with soy mince. When the mac is ready, drain and transfer to the casserole. Drizzle with the sauce, and mix well until it thickens a bit.
Enjoy hot!
